Winter storm warning in effect for:

  • Port Saunders and the Straits

Hazardous winter conditions are expected.

Total snowfall accumulations of 15 to 20 cm are expected by Wednesday morning.

Significant snowfall and strong winds will combine to give reduced visibilities in blowing snow overnight tonight, continuing into Wednesday morning. Precipitation will change through ice pellets or freezing rain to rain by Wednesday afternoon.

Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions.

Winter storm warnings are issued when multiple types of severe winter weather are expected to occur together.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ec.weathernlwo.ec@canada.ca or tweet reports using #NLwx.
